Questions about Rolls Royce's jet engine

Here I post all the questions I solved in the Rolls Royce's web page:  1-Why are turbine blades coated with a ceramic material? A)It makes them lighter  B)It helps make them stronger  C)It helps to stop them melting- D)It makes them a better colour 2-Why can’t titanium be used to make turbine blades? A)In temperatures over 600ºC where it rubs against other metals, it can burn- B)It is too dense and would be too heavy to use C)It is the wrong colour D)It is too expensive 3-Drag and drop the densities to the correct material: Titanium 6/4: 4.5g/cm3 Nickel alloy 8.2g/cm3 Partially yttrium stabilized zirconia: 5.1g/cm3 Nickel super alloy: 8.4g/cm3 4-What are the two main things engineers must consider when choosing materials to use in an engine? A)Colour and weight B)Cost and colour C)Weight and name  D)Cost and weight - 5-Which statement is true? A)To active the same amount of thrust you can either accelerate a Small mass of air

One of my days in Globalia Maintenance Training

Globalia is located in the municipality of Llucmajor, twenty five kilometers from Palma de Mallorca, in the  Son Noguera trade development. From Tuesday to Friday I have training classes in Globalia in the morning, so I have to get up at cuarter past six in the morning to take the car and go to class. It is my first year in Llucmajor so we have 3 hours of practical classes in the workshop, with 5 minutes of rest every hour to go to the toilette or drink something. In the workshop, we must wear a uniform and safety shoes, which Air Europa has customized with her logo. At the end of the 3 hours of practice, we have a break of 20 minutes for breakfast and We go to the bar. At 11 o'clock in the morning the first hour of theory begins, so we go to the upper floor of the training building where the classroom is located. At the moment we are studying fundamentals of electricity with Elena. As in the class with Elena we are studying capacitors, resistors and some electrical components

Boeing 747

The boeing 747 is spectacular. During the documentary he explains a large amount of information about the huge quantities of material and characteristics of this engineering work. It describes in particular the Boing 747-400, plane model called Victor X-ray. It is an airplane that has traveled more than 36 million miles, which means taking 1500 laps around the world during its 14 years of operation. His longest trip is 14 hours from Singapore with 299 passengers. These passengers consume up to a ton of food and drink during the flight The hail, the fatigue of the materials, the collision with birds, are some of the causes that can cause wear or breakage of the components that make up the plane, A periodic inspections must be made to the aircraft to avoid aggravation. In addition, security systems such as chutes or black boxes are checked, since they are systems that, although they are not used, must be operational at all times. Every 6 years, an exhaustive check called D c
